At the last DSUK board meeting, our Chairperson Shona Tate retired from the board after completing her full term as a trustee. Shona Tate led DSUK through the significant challenges to our future that we faced as we emerged from the pandemic. Under her leadership we have been able to rebuild and become a stronger organisation.
Shona Marsh has become the charity’s new Chairperson.
Shona Tate says that:
“It has been a real privilege to be Chairperson for DSUK over the last three years. The board have helped steer the charity through some of its most challenging times, and I’m lucky to have been supported by an amazing team of trustees.
I am delighted to now be handing over the role of Chairperson to Shona Marsh who has been a trustee for two years. She has been a real asset as a board member and comes with a vast skillset to lead the board and help steer the charity through the years ahead.
I wish Shona Marsh and DSUK all the best for the future.”
Shona Marsh has a background in global travel and tourism, supporting entrepreneurs in starting and growing their businesses, and in building tech startups. She is also on the board of VisitScotland.
Shona is also a qualified adaptive ski instructor and is passionate about enabling disabled people to experience the joy of the mountains and reducing barriers to the outdoors.
Shona Marsh told us:
“I am honoured to have been appointed as Chair of Disability Snowsport UK, to support Virginia and the team in our mission to remove barriers to snowsports for people with disabilities, and to enable our members to pursue their passion for skiing and snowboarding.
I am fortunate to have been a trustee with DSUK for the past 2 years, under the unwavering stewardship of Shona Tate. I am hugely thankful for her support and guidance as a board member in that time, and more recently as I transitioned into the Chair role.
I am looking forward to meeting members and supporters at the upcoming AGM and on the hill over the coming months. DSUK has successfully weathered a challenging few years, and I am looking forward to supporting an exciting future for the charity.”
