It is runners own responsibility to make their way to the Strathspey Steam Railway Station after 9.45am.

Start:

On arriving in Boat of Garten, runners will be marshalled towards the Boat of Garten Community Hall where there will be a chance to warm up or take a last minute loo break. At 11.20am the race will begin.

Finish:

The finish will be by the Route 7 Café within Dalfaber Industrial Estate. Finishers will be presented with their medals. Refreshments and a light snack will be generously provided for runners by Route 7 Café.

General Information:

Entrants may make their own way to the Strathspey Steam Railway or to the Boat of Garten Community Hall if they wish but they must register in the morning and collect their race number and they must be present at the Boat of Garten Community Hall for the race safety brief.

Whilst runners are warming up, the steam train will carry onto Broomhill Station in Nethy Bridge and prepare for its return journey to Aviemore. When the steam train departs Broomhill Station at approximately 11.20, the race will start. Runners will have a good head start on the train.

Most of the track, especially the second half, runs by the railway so you'll be able to see and hear! the train coming. The track is mostly good quality, hard-packed trail. Some sections are rough and rocky in places though, so good running shoes are recommended!

Prizes:

• There will be medals for all race finishers
• Men 1-2-3 and Women 1-2-3, donated by Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports, Aviemore

Facilities:

There are toilets and changing facilities at the Strathspey Steam Railway and the Boat of Garten Community Hall. There will also be portable toilets at regisration.
Car parking is available at registration, though some will be on public roads.

There are no water stations on the route.

Small bags will be transported from the race start back to the finish line. Please don't take valuables or large bags on the train, we have limited room to transport these back to Aviemore.

Small after race refreshements and snacks are being offered to runners by Route 7 Cafe. Route 7 Cafe and and The Yellow Vest Takeaway will be open offering breakfast and lunch in the cosy and comfortable surroundings in the Highland Home Centre. Enjoy breakfast rolls, home made soups and sandwiches with some alternatives such as quesadillas and tasty mains, as well as delicous homebaking. The ideal place for spectators to relax before the runners come in or stay and have some lunch after the race.

Health and Safety:

The track is not suitable for wheelchair users.
Children are not permitted to run alongside runners.
All runners must enter emergency contact details on the back of their number.
